In vs.net, you can cutomize toolbars to hell and back. Its plain silly what you can do.
For instance:
get into toolbox customization mode by double clicking on the lower toolbars (below the file menu)
now, you can drag a “file menu” root item from the top of the screen to the document area (whether you have a document open or not) and you'll see a small square with a small x. Guess what that means? delete! oops...
Pretty pathetic notification that I am about to irreversibly screw up my ide!
Alright, how do we fix it and get our “File Menu” back?
Delete to the rescue!
find
C:\Documents and Settings\[current user]\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.0\1033\CmdUI.PRF
get rid of it, delete it, destroy it. Make it go away.
Your File Menu will restore in VS.Net.
