Its never when we are prepared and on our game that we are quoted, referenced or otherwise captured in the act. That, I think, is the nature of a Blog. The author can control how their stream of conciousness is published to the world. When asked about .Net several years ago, I responded candidly at the PDC where Microsoft revealed their vision of the future. I was excited, yet skeptical. Today, looking back, I see that I had some insight and appropriate expectations but was blind for the future as a whole. The technology revealed that day was breakthrough but it wasn't the revolution. There were other things coming, not necesarily Microsoft, that would change the way we work, play and live. Today as I read RSS feeds and make my first blog entry I am aware of the fact that something is happening yet sure I cannot grasp the vast importance or significance of it all.
I won't delete that first post even though I feel I sound like an idiot. That, I'm sure, will happen again. Like the first ding on a new car, its better to get it over with.
I am very excited to have this place to express my thoughts and curiosity. Sometimes just putting it in writing is enough to develop an idea. Bear with me as I get the hang of keeping a blog. It will take me a while to get on my game. Hopefully, I'll get there.
Thanks for reading my dribble.
...and I already find it rewardng. I have recently been struggling with div's, css and floating elements. It doesn't always work as I desire. For this floated mugshot of my boy, The image was poking out of the surrounding div container. Following more research than Ginger appreciates, I learned how to deal with it. I used a proceeding div (after the image) to clear the next line and encouraage the container to encompass the image. Read this article: containing-floats to see the technique explained and this one: containment and positioning to get a general description on positioning and containment
