I will have to get back to you with pics! It is a masterpiece. I constructed an off-center, tapered wedge from 3/4 inch Maple-vaneered plywood. While most seams were nearly perfect, there were a couple imperfect cuts that required extra glue to seal, and sealed they were. The edges of the face was chiselled down to match the opposing angles and the speaker hole cut to a precision fit. All corners were beveled round and then the whole thing was fine sanded. A heavy coat of rosewood colored stain was rubbed in and it was finished in clear satin polyeurothane. For me, it represents a passion and an obsession and a symbol of youth. It is completely indulgent. It required a great deal of work and planning and dedication and provided equal reward, even before it is put into use. Power tools are fun!
Just by coincidence, when sitting in its fateful home (the trunk of my car) the angles match the lines of the car. I find that happy accidents like this happen when you let yourself be consumed by a creative impulse.
Due to the angles I chose, it sites slightly back and cocked to one side, like a proud homey after a job well done.
