I am concluding an experience that demonstrates why it is a worthwhile the investment to purchase a quality vehicle, like an Acura, from an exceptional dealership, such as Ed Voyles Acura in Atlanta, in favor of a less expensive car from a less reputable dealership. Let me say that I had a favorable experience with Curry Honda several years ago that lead me to seek out another Honda/Acura product following a very bad experience owning a brand new Volvo. Now, I hope Acura continues to carry cars that suit my lifestyle, and that I can afford, so I never have to have anything else.
Ill first explain what some people think is status quo. My wife's car is a 04 Volvo v40. My terrible experience with Dyer and Dyer has lead me away from the brand. I wanted a safe car for my wife and child but when a brand new tire blew out unexpectedly (the first week we had it), they were not interested in anything but selling me a new tire at an exorbitant mark up. The service manager thought it necessary to insult me personally (by telling me I lacked common sense when I explained my situation and concern) and the general manager defended him and tried to tell me a story of how his wife was stranded in the middle of Florida because she had a $200 tire blow out and how frustrated he felt but, things like this happen and theres nothing you can do about it." Ill pass on the textbook car salesmen b.s. and take my business elsewhere. I am very excited to have found a fabulous Volvo service expert at Prof. Swedish Car Repair. I trust them, they do great work, and they picked up the ball where the Volvo dealership dropped it.

When I contacted Acura in Cali, I was reasonable and understanding. They cannot just fix everything that goes wrong on a used Acura. However, I was well within my 12 month, 12000 mile certified used car warranty. I requested only the burned plastic parts be replaced and indicated that the stained leather was something I could live with. After a few months and many phone calls, they have agreed to fix all the damage, including replacing the seat bottom, and they even gave me a rental while the repairs are being done.
This gesture has proven to me that Acura/Honda holds their dedication to quality as a company philosphy, not just a product of great engineering and manufacture. They have truly stepped up and done the right thing and made an investment in a long term relationship with a customer. I plan to write them a letter to thank them and call out the individuals who have been a part this experience. More importantly, I will be replacing my Acura with another Acura when the time comes, guaranteed.
Throughout this unfortunate incident, I never received less than a smile and was treated with the utmost respect. I happen to be a young-looking, long-haired software geek who often finds people quickly judging me based on my appearance. The folks at Acura never once lowered their standard.
I can't wait to get my baby back, and have her right again. Then I'll finish the stereo install and enjoy many more years of a pleasurable commute. One day, she will be tired and I will simply move my stereo to a nice, new Acura.
I intend to be very vocal about this experience.
When I had a negative experience with Dyer and Dyer Volvo, I made sure to tell everyone about it. I ran into complete strangers who have also been disgusted and frustrated with Dyer and Dyer. and, as you can see, I continue name dropping and expressing my dissatisfaction. I will never buy a car from them and, if I can help it, neither will anyone I know or talk to about it. I love the car! It is too bad I hate the people who represent it so.
Conversely, I am so very pleased with Acura and Ed Voyles that I feel the need to tell people about it. My car has quite a few miles yet drives like brand new. The dealership treats me as if I had purchased their most expensive model at sticker price. I will be sure to tell people to go there and buy with confidence. I thoroughly appreciate their level of service.
